Dear Spirited Soloprenuer:

I broke that seemingly elusive 6-figure mark...

And I broke it with the biggest financial leap forward in my business happening last year, (and doubled that again this year) at the same time that the economy was taking a nose-dive.

In that time, I've gone from working 20 hours a week to about 8 hours a WEEK (not a day) while consistently increasing my income...

I also had two babies, took a 4-month maternity leave, took two months off every summer, and I had no help (no nanny, no housekeeper, no errand runner or personal assistant, and no family nearby to assist either). And I've only had part-time virtual assistant for the past 18 months...

Let's go back...

About 8 years ago, I was in the middle of a divorce and had just left a job that paid me less in a year than what I've made in a single MONTH now.

For the first time in my life, I was completely on my own - both personally and professionally.

I had always wanted (in fact, *needed* is probably a better word here) to be my own boss, have the option to make as much money as I wanted, and have control over my life. This was particulary important to me to do BEFORE I started a family (mind you, I hadn't even met the right guy yet, but I knew that when I did, I wanted to be home to raise our children).

And just as important, there was a something gnawing at me - and it had been for a very long time. I knew I was meant to do more - much more - than what I was doing with my life at the time. And I knew it was my time and my turn.

It was truly 'now or never'.

I chose NOW and started my own consulting business with exactly one client.

In the beginning...

I did all the traditional things that everyone tells you to do. And what happened? I struggled and struggled to get clients! Why? Because I was trading my time for money and I was getting nowhere fast.


But I was determined NEVER to have to work for someone else ever again.


Still things were looking very bleak. I knew if things didn't change fast, I wasn't going to have a choice. I was going to have to get a job.

So when I was presented with an opportunity to learn from and be mentored and coached by someone who was making well into 6-figures, I knew I had a very big decision to make.

I took a deep breath and I said YES - to the opportunity and to myself.

And I immersed myself in learning from that mentor. And once I started actually implementing the strategies and tactics I was learning, things slowly started to turn around for my business.

But even though I was finally making some money and had a few steady clients, I was still working really hard. I was convinced there was something I was missing, that it didn't have to be this difficult.

And I was right!

Now, it took me about three years to figure it all out and then put the System into place that consistently brings me more clients, customers and cash every single month.
